12. Supplement Notices to Residents of Washington

This portion of our Policy only applies to Washington state residents.

As a Washington resident, the Washington State My Health My Data ("MHMD") Act gives you certain choices regarding "consumer health data" as described below. The law applies only to "consumer health data" about your past, present, or future health.

Consumer Health Data We May Collect

We collect data from a variety of sources. Because consumer health data is broadly defined in the MHMD, much of the data we collect could also be considered consumer health data. Examples may include:

  • Information about your child's health-related conditions, symptoms, status, or treatments
  • Information that could identify your propensity to seek health care services or information
  • Behavioral biometrics resulting from your use of our websites
  • Inferences derived from the above data

Sources of Consumer Health Data

We collect personal data (which may include consumer health data) from three main sources:

  • Information you provide us directly by ordering products, signing up for newsletters, filling out surveys, or registering for an account
  • Information collected automatically with you browse our website

Why We Collect and Use Consumer Health Data

We collect and use this data as reasonably necessary to provide you with the products you have requested and to understand your interests. Providing requested products to you may include delivering the products, making suggestions of products that may be appropriate for you, and/or personalization of certain product features. We also use consumer health data for other essential business operations, such as analyzing our performance, meeting legal obligations, and product development.

Disclosures of Consumer Health Data

We may share each of the categories of consumer health data described above with your consent or as necessary to provide our products and services.

How to Exercise Your Rights

The MHMD Act provides certain rights with respect to consumer health data. These rights include your right to know, access, and withdraw consent to the collection of your consumer health data and receive a list of all third parties and affiliates—including contact information—who received your data, and the right to request that we delete your consumer health data. You can withdraw consent relating to the collection of your data too, subject to certain exceptions.

You can request to exercise such rights by contacting us at support@thecocoonbaby.com.

13. Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies in connection with our websites and any other website that we own or control and which posts or links to this Cookie Policy (collectively, the "Sites").

What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files sent from a server to your web browser. They are stored in your browser's cache and allow a website or a third party to recognize your browser.

Our sites may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer or mobile device until you delete them). We specifically use two types of cookies: (1) first party cookies, provided directly by us to your computer or mobile device; and (2) third party cookies, which are served by service providers or other third parties.

We Use the Following Categories of Cookies

  • Essential cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our Sites. Refusal of these cookies may impact Site functionality.
  • Performance and functionality cookies: These cookies are used to enhance the performance and functionality of our Sites but are not required for site use.
  • Analytics and customization cookies: These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our Sites are being used generally, or how effective our marketing campaigns are, or to help us customize our Sites.
  • Advertising cookies: These cookies are used to make advertising messages more relevant to you. They help prevent the same ad from continuously re-appearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed for advertisers, and in some cases selecting advertisements that are based on your interests.

Your choices

There are a number of ways that you can opt-out or manage cookies. Your options for controlling what information cookies and similar technologies collect about you include:

  • Your Cookie Settings. When you visit our Sites, depending on where you are located, we may show you a cookie banner that explains why we use certain cookies and provides you the ability to opt out of certain cookie use.
  • Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings.
  • Using privacy plug-ins or browsers. You can block our websites from setting cookies used for interest-based ads by using a browser with privacy features, like Brave, or installing browser plugins like Privacy Badger, Ghostery, or uBlock Origin.
  • Do Not Track. Some Internet browsers may be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services that you visit.

If you do not accept our cookies, you may experience some inconvenience in your use of our Sites. For example, we may not be able to recognize your computer or mobile device and you may need to log in every time you visit our Sites.

For more information about how we collect, use and share your information, see our Privacy Policy above.
